SlideAword Instructions:
Reading:
Place the SlideAword over a reading line on the reading material.
Use the finger grips on either sides of the SlideA word; hold the left hand grip and pull the right hand grip out to create an isolated viewing window.
The adjustable window allows you to select and isolate a single letter, word, phrase, sentence or line, blocking out all immediate peripheral words.
The alphabetical guide in both upper and lower case assist the child in letter recognition and allows the child to sound or spell the word(s) out.
Basic Mathematics:
Place the SlideAword over the entire mathematic line, e.g. 5+4=9.
Use the finger grips on either sides of the SlideAword; hold the left hand grip and pull the right hand grip out to create an isolated viewing window.
Isolate the first numerical value (e.g. 5) and let the child find the value on the centimetre reading of the SlideAword, then extend the viewing window to isolate the entire sum (e.g. 5+4=), let the child count 4 numbers on from the 5 on the SlideAword (9), then further extend the viewing window to isolate the entire sum.
The child can now test his own numerical ability on all basic mathematical calculations.
Who benefits from using the SlideAword?
